Leaders of Hope is a fundraising challenge in which our Milwaukee community leaders compete to raise funds through American Cancer Society events over a 10-week period. These candidates serve as an extension of the American Cancer Society to raise funds and awareness to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Each person takes a leadership role in the American Cancer Society’s mission by committing to raise a minimum of $5,000 for the Champions of Hope Gala, held on October 24th, 2024 at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel.
If you would like to nominate someone, please click nomination form. Nominations will be closed on August 1 and fundraising will begin August 15.
If you have additional questions, please contact Andrea Urban at 262.366.3273.

DonateCancer has touched the lives of countless individuals, including my family and friends. My brother fought hepatocellular carcinoma with incredible courage. Witnessing his battle and the unwavering support of our community inspired me to make a difference.
I joined Leaders of Hope to honor my brother’s memory, provide hope and support to those newly diagnosed, celebrate survivors, and raise funds for vital cancer research and ultimately, finding a cure. I believe that together, we can make a difference and create a world without cancer.
Erin Jeffrey
DonateCancer has impacted so many lives in our community including mine. I lost my mom to cancer 3 years ago and my mother-in-law is fighting every day from her cancer diagnosis. Earlier this year, through my annual screening, I found out that I had Breast Cancer. Through early detection and my amazing care-team, I’m thrilled to share that I’m cancer-free again. I am honored to be a part of a great event and a great organization to help raise awareness and funds to support the mission of the American Cancer Society.
Traci Licari
DonateTraci is a two-time cancer survivor with no close family history – Breast Cancer 14-year Survivor and Thyroid Cancer 2-year Survivor.
“Listening to my body and being persistent truly played a large role in my journey – I am grateful that both cancers were able to be fully removal with clean margins.
Unfortunately, everyone has a story of how they were impacted by cancer.
Cancer directly impacts your life – as the patient as you learn to understand what you can control and what you can’t; your family and friends as they become caretakers and therapists; Your coworkers as they do more than their usual work to cover for you while you focus on you.”
Traci is truly honored to join this event to keep fighting for education, early detection, quality of life during diagnosis and elimination of cancer.

DonateWe are a husband and wife “Leaders of Hope” team who were diagnosed with cancer a year apart from each other. Our goal is to raise awareness of the increasing rates of early-onset cancer as we were both diagnosed before the age of 40. We fully understand the challenges that survivors and caregivers face at diagnosis, during treatment, and survivorship. We need your help to support the American Cancer Society in their mission to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families…and ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. Let’s work together to eradicate cancer!
